@  wreckless : (08 February 2019 - 06:43 PM) just getting used to this site. have an original xjr 1300, 03 plate, black, with the nice paint job. I love it, but not had a big bike before, so still,l a bit nervous of it, but will definitely keep it, 32,000 on the clock, looks lovely. light as a feather when you ride it, but quite heavy, so i find hill starts and right hand turns hard. pleased to join this forum.

Hey all, how we doing?
I've just bought a 2nd hand universal quick shifter, this can be wired in to interrupt the ignition circuit. Now it recommends going between the did and the coils, does anyone know which wire it is coming or of the coils, which colour?
Any one else fitted one to an XJR? Got any advice for me?

First bit..."between the did"?

Second. I think you need to put the wire into the Red/White wire as it's common to both coils.

I'm looking at putting Healtech shifter on mine.

Oh shit!

Did is cdi bloody auto correct! I was thinking about the healtech, looks to be the best out there I would say say. I only went with this KLS unit as it was cheap, £40 cheap!
I'll have a look at the red/white wire, I've not actually had a look at the wiring diagram for the bike yet so can't comment on the wiring, but cheers Pal, it gives me something to look out for. This unit actually has two interruption circuits. I emailed the manufacturer to see if they could give me any advice and they gave me the full complete wiring diagram, which was nice ;)

Ahahahahaha still laughing! I didn't think a mod that wasn't "bigger" could make me smile so much. But the quickshifter has done it!

I stumped up for a Healtech. It looks like a nice unit and as my bike doesn't use any of the original ignition system or wiring I went to the tech department just to check on the one for me.

Oh shit!

You'll enjoy it, the install is easy enough, I had to snip off a spade end as it didn't fit in the coil but nothing major. It's just ace fun all round Pal

I'm running it in manual mode. My threshold is 60% and my cut off delay is up to 35% because it jumped out of gear a couple if times. My cut of times are 75ms up to 4krpm and 70ms up to 9krpm 10k is at 65ms but I've not actually tried it at anything above 8krpm.

You fitted it yet?
I put mine back to adaptive, seems smoother.
